Yes way, Rosé! Ever since Refinery29 disrupted experiential marketing in 2015 with the creation of 29Rooms, Instagrammable pop-ups that provide immersive museum-like experiences have become a cultural phenomenon. There have been pop-ups for ice cream, colors, eggs, emotions…there is even one for plastic and pets! This summer I was lucky enough to be part of one of these modern-day museums when KJI was commissioned to create two murals for Rosé Mansion in NYC. The Rosé Mansion experience is part wine bar, part amusement park, part science lab that makes learning about the pink drink’s past as fun and enjoyable as drinking it. Each room of the mansion focuses on a different aspect of the rosé story, each as Instagram-worthy as the next. KJI’s task was to create pieces that educate guests on the history behind the wine’s fermentation process. Although fermentation doesn’t seem like the most exciting theme, we elevated the topic by creating two classic chalkboard-style murals that highlight all the interesting scientific factoids and educational elements that visitors would want to know. We also snuck in some colorful illustrations throughout that helped the whole mural pop. If only all our science classes were this engaging.
